Treasurer Schwartz Considering Run For Governor

Nevada’s Republican state Treasurer Dan Schwartz said he might consider a bid for governor.

The Nevada Independent reports Schwartz said he’s considering a run to replace termed-out Republican Governor Brian Sandoval.

The only major politician who has formally announced his intention to run is Clark County Commission Chairman Steve Sisolak. There has been much speculation about Republican Attorney General Adam Laxalt’s intentions to run.

Schwartz is most known for his aggressive push for the Education Savings Accounts, and also his numerous warnings about the viability of economic development projects like Faraday Future.

In a recent poll conducted by a Democratic campaign consultant, 34 percent of respondents favored Laxalt, 30 percent favored Schwartz and 35 percent were undecided.
