Family Of Man Who Died At Washoe County Jail Suing

Washoe County is now facing a lawsuit over the death of a man in the Washoe County Jail.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the family of Justin Thompson has lodged a wrongful death complaint. They say deputies used excessive force, lacked training and denied Thompson proper medical care. Thompson died in August after a confrontation with deputies that was captured on the jail’s surveillance cameras.

It’s the second lawsuit against the jail in connection with a recent two-year uptick in deaths at the jail.
