Owners of the SLS Las Vegas hotel announced this week they have agreed to be bought by a casino group in Reno.
Meruelo Group owns the Grand Sierra Resort Hotel and Casino in Reno, and is a management company that serves 35 companies in seven different industries. The SLS is currently owned by Las Vegas Resort Holdings. They expect the sale to be completed by the end of the third quarter of this year, but they didn’t say what the purchase price will be.
The SLS was a renovation of the former Sahara, and its reopening in August 2014 was the first major resort happening on the Strip since 2010.
