Nevada Regulators Set To Fine Las Vegas Sands $2 Million

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada state regulators are expected on Thursday to approve a $2 million fine against Las Vegas Sands Corp. to settle a complaint that the casino company didn't properly account for millions of dollars paid to a Chinese consultant and received from a high roller.

The Nevada Gaming Commission is due to sign off on a two-count agreement that billionaire Sheldon Adelson's company reached last week with the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

The publicly traded corporation with holdings in the U.S. and Macau doesn't admit wrongdoing.

The Nevada case comes after Las Vegas Sands agreed in April to pay a $9 million civil penalty to end a federal Securities and Exchange Commission probe into whether the company properly documented several large money transfers to Chinese entities over the last decade.
