LAS VEGAS (AP) — School officials in Las Vegas say they didn't get the type of threat that officials in California and New York say they received — and that prompted the closure of Los Angeles schools.
Clark County schools spokeswoman Michelle Booth and district police Capt. Ken Young say Las Vegas-area campuses are open Tuesday.
Booth says that if the district receives a threat, it will take appropriate action.
All Los Angeles-area public schools were shut down and officials said an emailed threat targeted students at many campuses.
New York City officials say they received the same threat, but quickly concluded that it was a hoax.
The sprawling Clark County district is the nation's fifth-largest, with 356 campuses and more than 320,000 students.
