The Elko County Commission has decided not to put up money to join an injunction to fight a federal sage grouse protection plan.
The Elko Daily Free Press reports the county commission seemed agreeable to the idea in principle, but wanted a commitment from other state entities – if not the state itself – that they would also take part.
The Nevada Minerals Alliance proposed the injunction to stop the Bureau of Land Management and the US Forest Service from putting a land-use management plan in place that would help protect the sage grouse.
