CARSON CITY (AP) — Gov. Brian Sandoval has appointed two new non-voting members to the Nevada Board of Education.
The governor announced Friday that Humboldt County Superintendent David Jensen would take over for Lisa Noonan, who retired as Douglas County Superintendent earlier this month. Her term was set to end Jan. 1.
Jensen has served as a school psychologist and in other administrative roles before taking the helm at the rural school district. He has degrees from Brigham Young University and the University of Nevada, Reno.
Sandoval also said he's appointing Desert Oasis High School senior Anthony Martinez to serve as the board's student representative through May 2016. Martinez will be his school's student body president this year, and is involved in speech, debate, track and cross country.
