School officials in Las Vegas are blaming state education chief Dale Erquiaga for failing to provide evidence seven months after accusing administrators at a neighborhood elementary school of altering achievement test scores.
Clark County School Board Vice President Linda Young said Thursday she's upset the principal and assistant principal at Kelly Elementary School were suspended but never proved guilty after Erquiaga raised the allegations in April. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Young faulted the state investigation for not being thorough. Clark County school officials last week released a report saying that cheating couldn't be ruled out after a spike in Kelly test scores in 2011 and 2012, but that no wrongdoing was proved.
