Firefighters say at least 41 dogs died after a fire at a North Las Vegas home, with 62 surviving so far. Crews arrived about 8 p.m. on Sunday at a smoke-filled house on Stanley Avenue, near Eastern and Owen avenues.
Capt. Cedric Williams says firefighters saw dogs running in the front and back yards and inside the house. They used small oxygen masks to resuscitate some of the animals who had inhaled smoke. Animal control officers were on the scene Sunday night to remove animals from the house, and planned to return Monday to look for more. A man who was in the house was taken to University Medical Center and is in stable condition
