Southern Nevada Homeless Programs Get Financial Help

Homeless programs in Las Vegas are receiving an infusion of much-needed federal dollars. Thursday the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development announced $1.6 million in assistance for housing and support services.

Programs awarded grants include: A Place to Call Home, CHAMPS, Moving Forward, Pathways, Project E.I.G.H.T., Rapid Rehousing and St. Vincent HELP Apartments. In all, HUD announced $140 million in federal grants to nearly 900 local homeless assistance programs across the country. They represented the second round of grants under the department's Continuum of Care Program.
