A new campaign to boost Black homeownership in Southern Nevada is scheduled to launch Wednesday.
The Coalition to Make Homes Possible includes the City of Las Vegas, the Nevada Housing Division, the Urban Chamber of Commerce and others.
The group plans to work with real estate brokerage firms, help with services such as down payment aid, and support financial coaching, City Councilman Cedric Crear told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

He said the gap in homeownership is huge and needs to be addressed.
A report from Clark County indicates that in 2017, in the City of Las Vegas nearly 59 percent of white households were homeowners, compared to 41 percent for Latino households and 28.5 percent for Black households.
