Special Election To Be Held In County Commission Race

On Monday, Clark County commissioners certified the results of the general election, except for the District C County Commission race.

Democrat Ross Miller won by 10 votes but the election department reported 139 ballot discrepancies, triggering a special election.

There were 153,162 votes cast in that race.

Clark County Registrar of Voters Joe Gloria said there were 936 discrepancies identified in the county out of 974,185 ballots cast.

Reasons for discrepancies include voters trying to vote twice and issues with mail ballots.

Washoe County commissioners also voted to certify their county's results on Monday.

Elections officials and county clerks in Nevada’s 17 counties will approve results, a process called the canvass, and turn their numbers over to the Nevada Supreme Court to certify Nov. 24.
