Dome Fire 75 Percent Contained

The Dome Fire in the Mojave National Preserve southwest of Las Vegas is about 75 percent contained according to the National Park Service, which manages the area.

It has burned about 43,000 acres of desert vegetation, including Joshua trees.

Officials said that fire activity has decreased significantly, but there is still a chance for the fire to spread.
