Coronavirus Case Closes Nevada Jobless Call Center In Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada's unemployment benefits call center in Las Vegas is closed for cleaning after officials say an employee tested positive for the coronavirus.

The state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation says the unidentified person is self-quarantined and there's no immediate risk to the public because the facility had been closed to outsiders since mid-March.

An agency official said claims usually handled by the southern Nevada office will be routed to the call center in Carson City. Officials say the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance system and call center aren't affected.
