Las Vegas Unemployment Rate Hits 33.5 Percent In April

Las Vegas’ unemployment rate hit 33.5 percent last month, with about 356,650 locals out of work, the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation reported Wednesday.

Much of the damage came from the closing of the Las Vegas Strip as the area’s tourism industry ground to a halt.  The February unemployment rate for Clark County was 3.9 percent.

Statewide the rate was 28.2 percent in April compared with 4 percent in April 2019.
