Storm That Dumped Heavy Snow In Sierra Bound For Las Vegas

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A late winter storm that dumped more than a foot of snow at Lake Tahoe and nearly 3 feet on top of the southern Sierra is moving south, where a winter storm warning has been issued outside Las Vegas.

An avalanche warning expired Monday and chain restrictions were lifted on Interstate 80 near Lake Tahoe, where Incline Village reported 13 inches of snow.

Rainy weather is in the forecast through Wednesday for the Las Vegas Strip. The storm warning runs until Wednesday evening for elevations above 6,500 feet north and west of Vegas, where 1 to 2 feet of snow is possible.
