The man who created crosses for victims of the October 1 mass shooting in Las Vegas, as well as for other shooting victims around the country, has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Greg Zanis is in hospice care in Aurora, Illinois.
His daughter Susie Zanis has been giving public updates on her father’s condition and says that he has just weeks to live.

Over the past 20 years, Zanis has traveled over 800,000 miles, setting up the handmade crosses for those who have died in mass shootings.
He made thousands of crosses to commemorate victims of mass shootings. After the Route 91 Harvest festival shooting, Zanis brought 58 white crosses to the ‘Welcome to Las Vegas’ sign to honor the victims.
