Abstract Statue In Front Of SLS Removed As Part Of Re-Branding Efforts

The unusual 32-foot-tall statue that was in front of the SLS Hotel Casino has been removed.

Crews removed the statue known as 'Sam,' after the former owner of the property Sam Nazarian, Tuesday night.

The elimination of the abstract figure is part of a re-branding and renovation of the property.

On Thursday, the SLS will return to being called the Sahara Las Vegas.

The property became the ‘SLS Las Vegas’ in 2014. Renovations to the resort are expected to run through 2020.
