Biden Says Young People Are 'Not A Generation Of Socialists'

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Former Vice President Joe Biden says it's a myth that the young people Democrats need to turn out in the 2020 election are looking for "something radically different" in politics.

Biden said on Saturday that millennials and young people are "not a generation of socialists" but are concerned about corporate America's growing power and want "rational policy."

The 76-year-old Democratic presidential candidate said his comments made while campaigning in Las Vegas were not meant as a criticism of Vermont senator and Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, a self-described democratic socialist.

Biden campaigned Saturday with U.S. Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada, who did not answer questions from reporters about whether she's endorsing Biden.

Biden also spoke to volunteers working a campaign phone bank and joined them in making calls to volunteers and voters.
