As the 2019 legislative session nears its conclusion, lawmakers continue to work on finalizing a two-year budget for the state.
The Nevada Independent reports that four of the five bills implementing the state’s $8.8 billion budget were introduced Thursday.
Those bills would authorize spending for all state agencies, construction and repair projects as part of the capital improvements program, state worker pay, and appropriations.

The remaining budget bill, which will fund the state’s school budget account, is expected to be introduced sometime Friday.
Nevada’s constitution requires that lawmakers approve funding for K-12 education before any other budget bill or appropriation.
