Millions Of Acre Feet Of Water Expected To Flow Into Lake Mead

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation projects as much as 9 million acre-feet of water will be released from Lake Powell into Lake Mead in 2019, which might help prevent a water shortage declaration next year.

A study from the bureau says the Colorado River Basin’s snowpack is about 130 percent of average.

The report says flows into Lake Powell are expected to be 128 percent of average in runoff season.
