Governor-Elect Announces Staff For Incoming Administration

Nevada Governor-Elect Steve Sisolak named several new hires for his soon-to-begin administration this week.

Sisolak said the executive director of his transition team, Democratic advisor and strategist Michelle White, will be his chief of staff.

Sisolak tapped his transition team deputy director, Francisco Morales, to be director of public affairs and community relations.

J. Brin Gibson from Attorney General Adam Laxalt’s office will be Sisolak’s general counsel. 

Other hirings include Scott Gilles from the Reno City Manager’s office as senior advisor and Allison Combs from the Nevada System of Higher Education as policy director. 

Keith J.D. Hightower is currently legislative and intergovernmental affairs director for outgoing Governor Brian Sandoval, and Sisolak will keep him on in the same capacity.

The governor-elect will be sworn in January 7.

He will deliver his first State of the State address at 6 p.m. on January 16, in the Assembly Chambers of the Nevada Legislature.
