Reno mayoral candidate Eddie Lorton faced off against Mayor Hillary Schieve in a debate Thursday night.
They gave contrasting perspectives on a number of issues. Lorton sees Reno as a crime-ridden city in debt with a serious homelessness problem.
And while Schieve acknowledged some challenges, she also noted unemployment is down and the city is growing.

In the primaries, Schieve - who identifies as non-partisan - won 63 percent of the vote, while Lorton - a Republican - won 18 percent.
