Wounded Man Arrested Day After Henderson Police Shooting

HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Henderson police say a wounded 27-year-old man was found and arrested in Las Vegas a day after he was identified as the driver of a car that fled a grocery store parking lot amid police gunfire.

Officer Rodrigo Pena says Larry Calvert was hospitalized Monday with at least two gunshot wounds, and an injured woman was treated at a hospital for injuries she is believed to have received when she was hit by the car Sunday evening.

Pena says Calvert is expected to face battery with a deadly weapon on an officer charges.

Pena says police also located a black Toyota Camry that Calvert is accused of using to strike two officers before one officer fired several shots.

Another woman is still sought as a person of interest.
