The Department of Justice announced a series of grants totaling more than $18 million to help college campuses respond to crimes of sexual assault and domestic violence.
The University of Nevada Reno is one of the 57 recipients.
The department’s office on Violence Against Women announced the grants Wednesday to help higher education institutions implement comprehensive and coordinated responses to violent crimes.

The awards will go toward a range of services including training for law enforcement, healthcare providers and university personnel who are often first responders.
