UNR Athletic Dept. Reports Another Year Of Deficit

UNR’s athletic department has run a deficit for the sixth time in nine years. 

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that Nevada reported a $214,000 operating budget deficit for fiscal year 2018, with three one-time items boosting the overall deficit to $900,000. 

That total is less than half of the $2 million deficit from fiscal year 2017.  '

In all, the Wolf Pack owes the university roughly $5.9 million to cover budget deficits that have occurred since the 2008 recession.
