Tesla Ex-Employee: Company Spied On Employees, Ignored Theft And Drug Dealing

A former Tesla employee is claiming the company improperly spied on workers and ignored or covered up complaints of rampant theft and drug dealing at the company’s Nevada gigafactory.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reportsthat the allegations are contained in the summary of a complaint to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

New York attorney Stuart Meissner, who prepared the complaint, filed the tip with the SEC along with whistleblower Karl Hansen on August 9.

The complaint describes Hansen as a former member of Tesla’s security department who was fired in July after pointing out wrongdoing at the gigafactory in Storey County.

A Tesla spokesperson responded in part by describing Hansen’s allegations as “second-hand from a single anonymous source."
