Two small fires on Mt. Charleston are 100 percent contained. Both started over the weekend following lightning strikes.
Further north, the Martin Fire near the town of Paradise Valley has grown to about 320,000 acres, with flames estimated at 45 feet in height and fire movement of about 10 miles an hour at times.
Firefighters stopped the fire’s progress along its southern line, but the fire has moved east into northern Elko County.
