Casinos in Las Vegas and unionized workers continue to reach labor agreements two months after thousands of housekeepers, bartenders and others threatened to go on strike.
Members of the Culinary Union on Monday reached a tentative deal with Four Queens and Binion's casino-hotels in downtown Las Vegas.
The union says 650 members will be covered by the five-year contract if workers ratify it.
The contracts of 50,000 unionized workers expired earlier this year. Workers in May voted to authorize a strike over the lack of progress on contract negotiations.
The union and casino operators have since reached agreements covering workers at more than two dozen properties.
About 3,400 workers remain without contracts, and the union has stepped up its efforts by picketing outside some casino-hotels and a casino-restaurant.
