Culinary Union Reaches Contract Agreement With 2 More Resorts

The Culinary Union reached a contract agreement with two more resort companies in separate votes this week.

The union reported contract ratification votes at the Stratosphere and at the Four Seasons. The agreements come after the union voted in May to authorize a strike, as previous contracts expired June 1.

Union officials have said the new five-year contracts include the strongest economic package ever negotiated with the highest wage increases and health care and pension benefits for workers.

They’ve said the contract includes language on worker security and sexual harassment policies that include panic buttons in guest rooms.

Collective bargaining sessions were scheduled yesterday with the Tropicana, owned by Penn National Gaming.
