Primary Election Turnout Higher Than 2014

Turnout in this week’s primary election was slightly higher than in the past.

According to numbers on the Secretary of State’s website, about 65,000 more ballots were cast than in the 2014 election.

Democrats have honed in their focus to voter registration, and this year Democrats nearly doubled their turnout in 2014.

Democrats cast 3,200 more ballots in the gubernatorial race than Republicans, and numbers show there are more than 60,000 more registered Democrats than Republicans now in Nevada.

The 2014 general election was considered a red wave, when they cast about 42,000 more votes than Democrats in Nevada.

Historically, when a president has low approval ratings, the corresponding party loses seats. President Trump’s approval rating has hovered around 40 percent.
