EPA Appoints Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe Council Member To Local Government Advisory Committee

The U. S. Environmental Protection Agency has appointed Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe Council Member and Nixon resident Mervin Wright, Jr. to the Local Government Advisory Committee. The agency made the announcement in a press release yesterday.

The 33-member committee connects the EPA with local governments to collaborate on environmental protection at the community, state, and federal levels.

Council Member Wright was also appointed to the Small Community Advisory Subcommittee, which facilitates EPA cooperation with small communities.

Additionally, Council Member Wright serves on the tribal council, has served multiple committees for tribal and environmental issues and was named the Nevada Indian Commission American Indian Community Leader of the Year in 2010.
