City Of Las Vegas Outlines Proposal For Downtown Business Improvement District

Downtown Las Vegas property owners could face new annual assessments in the five- and six-figure range to fund a business improvement district being proposed by the city.

According to information sent out to stakeholders by City Manager Scott Adams, the business improvement district is intended to be led by the private sector and is an initiative to provide economic development and improve the area’s overall image.

In the letter, Adams said similar districts have been met with great success in downtowns across the country including many in the western U.S.

The districts have enhanced sanitation, security, marketing and visitor experiences.

The city plans to meet May 22 to discuss the petition process and how to move forward with creating the business district.
