Nevada Attorney General and Republican candidate for governor Adam Laxalt says Nevada is “turning into California” and that he’s worried the state is “heading in the wrong direction.”
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports Laxalt spoke at Fernley City Hall to a crowd of about 50 Wednesday.
He expressed opposition to increasing regulations and taxes, along with the idea of Nevada having sanctuary cities. Laxalt is hoping to replace term-limited fellow Republican Brian Sandoval as governor.
