LVCVA Votes To Contribute To Fremont Street Experience Canopy Upgrade

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority voted Tuesday on contributing to upgrades of the Fremont Street Experience video canopy.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the board unanimously approved a $9.5 million contribution to a total $28.5 million project.

The city owns the light canopy attraction, which hasn’t been upgraded in the past 14 years.

The planned upgrade will brighten the massive screen from 4.2 million pixels to 16.4 million. LVCVA President and CEO Rossi Ralenkotter said the money will from a capital expense account.
