BLM Considers Ely-area Wild Horse Roundup

The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public review on a plan to gather wild horses for up to ten years in the Seaman and White River Herd Areas southwest of Ely.

The Ely Times reportsthe BLM is proposing to gather and remove all excess wild horses in and outside herd area boundaries.

They say the roundup is necessary to improve watershed health and achieve better range health standards. The horses would be sent to holding facilities where they would be offered for adoption.
