Work is underway on an Interstate 15 and Starr Avenue interchange - between St. Rose Parkway and Cactus Avenue in the southwest valley.
The Nevada Transportation Department broke ground Wednesday on the $33 million project.
The interchange should alleviate traffic in the area and reduce traffic-related noise for nearby residents.

After completion, Starr Avenue will have six lanes with landscaped medians and bike lanes. The interchange is part of a $1-Billion south corridor project that began ten years ago.
This leg of the project will be completed in 2019.
