USA Today and the Reno Gazette-Journal report that shooting suspect Stephen Paddock purchased guns from vendors in several cities including North Las Vegas, St. George, Mesquite, and Verdi, just west of Reno, as well as in California and Texas.
Seven gun sellers in the Reno area, where Paddock had a home, said they had no record of Paddock as a customer.
Two Reno-area gun retailers declined to say whether or not Paddock had purchased firearms from them.

At Scorpius Tactical in Reno, Scott Liddle said he recognized Paddock as someone visited the store on multiple occasions several months ago but didn’t make any gun purchases.
He described Paddock as someone who, in his words, “wasn’t well versed in firearms.”
