Recall Efforts Against Three Senators Would Shake Up 2019 Legislative Session

Control of Nevada’s state senate is in question, as three Democratic senators are the subject of recall petitions.

The Las Vegas Sun reportspaperwork has been filed for three recall committees targeting senators Joyce Woodhouse of Henderson, Nicole Cannizzaro and Patricia Farley, both from Las Vegas.

Republicans had nine Senate seats during the last legislative session, while the Democratic caucus had 12 members. The Three recall efforts could shift that balance for the 2019 legislative session.

At least 25 percent of a senator’s constituents who voted in the last election must sign the recall petition for a new vote to be conducted.
