Governor Brian Sandoval has vetoed two bills relating to recreational marijuana this week.
Late Wednesday night, Sandoval vetoed Senate Bill 415 that would have created marijuana apprenticeships. He said the bill is not consistent with federal regulations and would make receiving federal funding more difficult.
Senate Bill 374, would have added opioid addiction to the list of qualifying conditions for medical marijuana. Sandoval argued that considering the U.S. Department of Justice’s stance against recreational marijuana, opening the door for more people to use and administer it was unwise and imprudent.
