Report: Nevada's Rural Roads Have 6th Highest Fatality Rate

Nevada’s long expanses of rural roads have the sixth-highest fatality rate in the United States.

That’s according to a national study released Tuesday by the nonprofit traffic research group TRIP.

Nevada has an average of 2.77 fatalities per 100 million miles traveled, compared to a national average of 2.18. In Nevada, 80 people died in accidents on rural roads in 2015.
