Democratic Representative Jacky Rosen is considering challenging Republican Senator Dean Heller for his Senate seat in 2018.
The Nevada Independent reports that the first-term congresswoman is the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee’s top choice to run. Heller is currently considered the most vulnerable Republican up for re-election in 2018 and is the Democrats’ best pickup opportunity in the midterm.
Rosen has represented Nevada’s 3rd congressional district since January after defeating Danny Tarkanian in the race to replace Republican Rep. Joe Heck. The powerful Culinary Union, as well as former Senator Harry Reid, endorsed Rosen in that race.
