Police say an overnight arrest that involved a gunshot into the floor at a Las Vegas Strip casino stemmed from the suspicion that two teenage males were underage and loitering on the gambling floor.
A spokeswoman for Caesars Entertainment, parent company of the Planet Hollywood resort, said the case did not involve underage gambling.
Officer Larry Hadfield says no one was injured in the 12:30 a.m. Tuesday shooting while officers struggled with a 17-year-old who ran and tried to pull a handgun from his waistband at Planet Hollywood.
Hadfield says that teen was detained as a juvenile on unspecified charges. His name wasn't made public.
Hadfield says 19-year-old Rayshawn Strickland also surrendered a gun when he was taken into custody.
Strickland was jailed on a felony concealed firearm charge and as a fugitive on a warrant from Oregon charging him with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
