Nevada lawmakers passed more than 200 bills ahead of Tuesday night’s midnight deadline.
Legislators had to pass bills out of their house of origin or the bills would be dead. All the bills passed Tuesday night now go to their second house for consideration and amendment.
The Nevada Independent reports among legislation approved for advancement were a handful of school and child care-related measures.
Assembly Bill 320 would remove standardized test results as a component of teacher evaluations.
Assembly Bill 188 would decrease the per-semester credit hour requirement to receive the Silver State Opportunity Grant from 15 to 12.
Senate Bill 369 would mandate that school districts with more than 75,000 students develop a professional development curriculum for faculty and staff.
Assembly Bill 346 would require all individuals providing child care for fewer than five kids to submit to background checks and register with the state.
