Save Red Rock Claims County Violated Open Meetings Law

In its latest bid to block a master planned community from being built near Red Rock Canyon, the Save Red Rock group is asking a district court to consider allegations that Clark County officials violated an open-meeting law.

On Feb. 22, the county decided to proceed with a development plan for up to 5,000 homes in the area. Hours of testimony were heard about the project. The county voted to proceed with a concept plan from 2011.

Save Red Rock argues that the county violated Nevada’s open-meeting law by considering matters beyond the scope of the agenda. The court is expected to hear the motion and decide whether to include the claims in April.
