LAS VEGAS (AP) — Recent power outages at Las Vegas casinos left some wondering: What happens to the money in slot machines or in-progress table games when they are interrupted?
The Las Vegas Sun reports casinos have several measures in place that ensure in almost every instance the gambler doesn't lose his or her winnings.
Officials with Nevada's Gaming Control Board say games are designed to recover their state of play and players' credits.
Board chairman A.G. Burnett said this is what happened when the lights went out at the Paris Las Vegas on Nov. 3.
He said the casino started contacting patrons and resolving issues as soon as the power was back up.
Burnett said the board received no complaints and did not hear about any player disputes as a result.
