LAS VEGAS (AP) — Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine is campaigning in Las Vegas on Monday.
Hillary Clinton's running mate is scheduled to speak at the Iron Workers International convention at the Mirage casino, and then hold a rally at the Local 525 Plumbers & Pipefitters Training Center.
Campaign officials say the Virginia senator's speech is significant because his father owned an ironworking shop in Kansas City and employed union members there.

The events come a few days before Clinton herself is set to return to Nevada. She's scheduled to campaign in Reno on Thursday.
