RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno City Manager Andrew Clinger is taking a voluntary leave of absence in the wake of an investigation into allegations that he sexually harassed three women who work for the city.
Clinger said in a letter to city employees released by the city on Monday that he will be on voluntary leave for the next 15 days "to ensure the important business of the city continues without interruption or distraction."
Clinger said he has designated Assistant City Manager Bill Thomas to serve as acting manager in his absence.
Three women have filed a joint sexual harassment complaint against Clinger.
The city council voted last week to spend up to $50,000 to conduct an independent investigation of the specific allegations, which have not been made public.
