A judge has ordered a former Boulder City animal control supervisor facing animal cruelty charges to be held on $50,000 bail.
The attorney for Mary Jo Frazier had asked that his client, who now lives in Oregon, be freed on her own recognizance. But the judge on Tuesday upheld a $50,000 warrant and ordered the woman be taken into custody.
Frazier has pleaded not guilty to felony counts of animal cruelty involving two dogs between April 2014 and April 2015.
Prosecutors say she euthanized a Dachshund unnecessarily and failed to provide proper food or care for a pit bull puppy.
The charges come nearly a year after a police investigation suggested animals were improperly euthanized under Frazier's watch.
Frazier resigned shortly after the investigation and moved to Oregon.
