Washoe County School District Superintendent Traci Davis set out a lofty goal in her annual State of the District address Monday: a 90 percent high school graduation rate four years from now.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the district’s current graduation rate is one of the worst in the country. Last year’s was 75 percent.
According to statistics from 2014, only Iowa has achieved a 90 percent graduation rate. In 2014, Washoe’s success rate was higher than that of only five states, including its home state of Nevada.
